The process of writing this piece was for Forensics class and we all had to write a essay of understanding of what the drug world can do to someone that is highly vulnerable of destroying their lives. Or we could of also wrote about the use of Drugs. I wanted to write this piece dedicated to one of the finest musicians that I look up to as a icon. I wrote this about the struggles Chet Baker's life.
Outward-looking
Other students in the class wanted to write either something basic about drug use or what the teacher picked out for them. I wanted to write something related to a musical icon that had a downward spiral in the use of drugs and caused his own life. This was about the drug life of Jazz and what it caused rto most of the musicians to the industry.
Inward-looking
This is my pride of work because even though, I had to write about the collapse of a true artist and his downfall to drug use but, Chet baker was a inspiration and the truest artist that expressed his music through what he was personally going through all his life. Some of the parts that I wrote I dislike, not the way I wrote it but, the in depth truth to Baker's downfall with the use of drugs.
Inward-looking
If I wanted to change something related to the piece I would change and have a extra paragraph dedicated at the end of the essay; the legacy that he has made throughout his life and what people would remember Chet Baker to be. My work reflects college writing expectations because of my minor in music that I will be studying at Wilbur Wright College, will make me write stories or prompts based off of musicians and the life of what they went through and inspiration through their music.
